It provides an insight into how the computer represents and manipulates information, at the physical and logical levels. It introduces how to write computer programs to solve problems. This course gives students an overview of computer science, providing them with a foundation from which they can better appreciate and understand computing in everyday life. Students cannot receive credit for COMP 1000 if they have previously successfully completed, or are currently registered for, COMP 1003. In addition to classes, this course has approximately 6 structured laboratory sessions per semester.Īvailability: This course is usually offered once per year, in Fall or Winter.
